About Me:

Hello,

I'm Dr. Lai,

And for the past 20 years, I've dedicated my career to treating patients with chronic pain. My mission is to help individuals like you achieve a pain-free life and regain control over your wellbeing. As a native of southern California, I completed my medical training at Tufts University, where I also served as a clinical instructor.

I am board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and my expertise extends to Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine. My ultimate goal is to provide comprehensive rehabilitation solutions that address physical, psychological, social, and vocational aspects of chronic back pain, all without relying on medications.

Throughout my journey, I've developed a deep interest in interventional pain management, neuro-musculoskeletal disorders, electro-diagnostics, and industrial and occupational rehabilitation. It's disheartening to witness many patients struggling with chronic back pain and not receiving the help they need, often relying on medications for years.

I firmly believe that life truly begins when pain ends. With my experience and dedication, I aspire to help you discover a pain-free life, allowing you to embrace a brighter and healthier future. Together, we'll explore effective and holistic approaches to address your chronic back pain and restore your overall well-being. Let's embark on this transformative journey towards lasting relief and renewed vitality.

Nearly 3 out of 10 U.S. adults – 72.3 million people – currently suffer from chronic low back pain, surpassing the number of Americans who have arthritis, diabetes or heart disease, according to a large new Harris Poll

There are also reciprocal effects on mental health—chronic low back pain is associated with increased depression, and depression is linked to increased disability and worse recovery in individuals with low back pain.

Which shows that the true causes of chronic back pain are NOT being addressed

A lot of people are given a bandaid for this problem.
